Trump Names Former Attorney General Pam Bondi to AI Policy Advisory Panel

President Trump has appointed former Attorney General Pam Bondi to a panel focused on AI policy within the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). The council is chaired by David Sacks, former White House AI adviser, and Michael Kratsios, White House science adviser. It also includes over a dozen technology executives, including Nvidia co-founder Jensen Huang, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison.

Bondi will be responsible for facilitating coordination between the government and these industry leaders on critical policy matters. In a statement, Vice President JD Vance described Bondi as “an enormously valuable asset to the president’s team” and expressed enthusiasm for her continued involvement in addressing administration challenges.

Bondi has been quietly battling thyroid cancer since leaving the Justice Department. She underwent treatment and is now in recovery. The former Attorney General received praise for her handling of the illness, with podcast host and former White House official Katie Miller noting that she “has been quietly kicking cancer’s a the last few weeks” and possesses “a heart of gold.”

According to the Cleveland Clinic, most thyroid cancers are curable with treatment, and patients diagnosed with this condition typically achieve an excellent prognosis with a five-year survival rate exceeding 98%. It is also reported that Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, secretly battled thyroid cancer during his high-profile role in the White House.
