President Trump released a new statement on Sunday afternoon condemning Iran’s longstanding actions against the United States and accusing former presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden of enabling the regime. In a Truth Social post, the 47th U.S. president declared: “Iran has been playing games with the United States, and the rest of the World, for 47 years (DELAY, DELAY, DELAY!),” adding that Iran received hundreds of billions of dollars through a failed nuclear deal under Obama’s administration.
Trump criticized Obama for “jettisoning Israel, and all other Allies” while handing Iran “hundreds of billions of dollars” and “1.7 billion dollars in green cash.” He singled out Biden as “not as bad as Sleepy Joe,” stating the Iranian regime has “killed our people with their roadside bombs, destroying protests, and recently wiping out 42,000 innocent, unarmed protestors.”
Shortly after posting his initial statement, Trump called Iran’s response to U.S. peace efforts “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.” The remarks followed Iranian state media’s announcement of a formal reply to recent U.S. proposals for a temporary truce in the Persian Gulf conflict. Trump’s reaction raised concerns about the collapse of diplomatic progress between the two nations amid ongoing regional tensions.
