A 14-year-old boy in East Harlem, New York City, attacked a 15-year-old girl after she refused to share her phone number. Footage captured the incident shows the boy lifting the girl into the air and slamming her onto pavement before stomping on her head.
The assault occurred around 3:30 p.m. Monday shortly after school ended. Police arrested the suspect Wednesday and charged him with assault.
Medical reports indicate the victim sustained severe injuries, including a concussion, bleeding, potential brain trauma, persistent headaches, and a twisted neck requiring ongoing physical therapy.
Selma Allen, the boy’s mother, told reporters that her son had been bullied by the girl at school prior to the incident. She described the attack as retaliation for what she claimed was recent bullying behavior from the victim, stating the girl pushed her son moments before the assault began and that they were friends who regularly exchanged messages on social media platforms. The suspect was remanded into custody following a Manhattan court hearing where press access was barred by the judge.
