El Salvador Man Shot by ICE After Attempted Vehicle Collision

Earlier today, ICE agents were forced to open fire after a man from El Salvador attempted to run them down with his vehicle.
Newly released footage shows Carlos Ivan Mendoza Hernandez trying to mow down ICE officers and being shot as a result. The video clearly demonstrates that the agents acted in self-defense.
Hernandez is currently hospitalized and reportedly stable. His family has denied any gang affiliations, consistent with prior statements by U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials who indicated he was not associated with gangs.
Patrick Kolasinski, an immigration attorney representing Hernandez’s family, stated the man remains in stable condition at Doctors Medical Center. “The biggest thing the family wants to get out right now is that he is not a gang member,” Kolasinski told local media. “He is a family man engaged to a U.S. citizen with a 2-year-old U.S. citizen daughter who was on her way to work in the Bay Area.”
