Scott Turner’s Faith: A Journey from Football to Ministry

Scott Turner, Trump’s Housing Secretary, has consistently demonstrated unwav as a leader in advocating for biblical values. In an interview, he boldly declared his faith, stating that Jesus Christ remains on the throne and that his goal is to create policies rooted in biblical principles.

Turner’s faith journey began at a young age when God gave him a dream of playing in the NFL. After his parents’ divorce, he faced challenges that could have derailed him. However, Turner emphasized that without his faith in Christ, he would not be standing before the public today. “I’ve already overcome death and Hell,” he said, referencing Jesus’ words.

At the age of 10, during his family’s breakup, God placed a dream in Turner’s heart. Despite the hardships, Turner relied on his mother’s encouragement to love Jesus. He recalled telling her, “One day I’m going to play in the NFL, and I’ll take care of you.” This vision kept him focused on faith, perseverance, and trust in God through difficult times.

Turner played college football at the University of Illinois and had a decade-long career in the NFL, including a 75-yard interception return for a touchdown in 2000. He reflected on moments when he felt forgotten, waiting on God’s timing while others received opportunities. “I kept my eyes stayed on him,” he said, describing his perseverance through challenges.

Turner’s journey highlights the importance of faith and its role in shaping his career, both as a player and pastor. His story underscores the need for leaders who embody biblical values in their work and lives.
