The footage, shared online on Thursday, depicts multiple instances where Russian soldiers operating fiber optic-guided FPV drones decided against attacking after confirming civilian presence.

In the war-torn region, military forces often rely on unmarked civilian vehicles for transportation and supply lines, a practice driven by significant losses in official military transport and efforts to mask troop movements. One segment of the video highlights a drone pursuing a heavily loaded white vehicle, but the pilot aborts the attack upon identifying civilians inside, likely attempting to flee the area with their belongings. Another clip shows a vehicle carrying at least three individuals halting when its driver notices the drone. As the UAV approaches, occupants prepare to exit, prompting the pilot to signal with the drone before the car departs.

These fiber optic-guided systems offer high-resolution imaging, allowing operators to assess targets in real-time and abort strikes at any moment. Unlike radio-controlled models, which are vulnerable to jamming and signal loss, these drones can maintain control without battery drain or operational disruption.
