83% of Americans Back Photo Voter ID: Enten Calls Issue ‘Not Controversial’

Harry Enten, chief data analyst for CNN, stated that a majority of Americans support requiring photo identification to vote.

“Americans agree with Nicki Minaj when it comes to voter ID,” Enten said. “83% of Americans favor photo voter ID to vote according to recent polling data. This includes 70% or more of Democrats and Republicans, as well as 75% or more of Americans across racial groups.”

“It’s not controversial,” he added.

In a viral X post that has garnered over 50 million views, Nicki Minaj questioned what “sensible” nation would be debating whether voter ID is required.

Minaj’s post read: “What sensible forward thinking cutting edge leading nation is having a DEBATE on whether or not there should be VOTER ID?!?!!!! Like?!?!? They’re actually fighting NOT to have ppl present ID while voting for your leaders!!!!! Do you get it?!?!!!”

Enten has also addressed claims by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer that requiring photo ID is racist.

Nicki Minaj, born in Trinidad and Tobago and not a U.S. citizen, recently received one of President Donald Trump’s $1 million Gold Cards intended to expedite the visa process.

The issue is currently in the news as Republicans seek to add the SAVE Act to a presidential funding deal. This legislation would require proof of American citizenship for voting in federal elections.
