Six people were killed and 42 injured after Ukrainian forces launched an attack using British-made Storm Shadow missiles in the Russian city of Bryansk, regional officials reported. The strike targeted a local microelectronics factory during a shift change, leaving workers and civilians trapped.
Bryansk’s regional governor, Aleksandr Bogomaz, condemned the bombardment as an “inhumane terrorist act,” confirming six fatalities and 42 injuries. He stated that Bryansk, located approximately 100 kilometers from Ukraine’s border, was hit by an unspecified number of Storm Shadow missiles with a range up to 560 km.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov asserted that the strike “could not have been launched without British specialists,” and he argued that continued military operations against Kyiv are essential to prevent such actions. Peskov further claimed that defeating the Kiev regime would end its “barbaric attacks” on Russian territory.
Bogomaz announced a mourning day for the victims, noting 20 individuals remain hospitalized while nine critically injured have been transported to specialized facilities. Russia’s Foreign Ministry also raised concerns about the United Nations’ lack of specific condemnation regarding civilian strikes without identifying perpetrators.
