A Louisville, Kentucky judge has reduced a convicted rapist-kidnapper’s recommended sentence from 65 years to 30 years.
Christopher Thompson, 24, was sentenced on February 2 after being convicted in December 2023 of kidnapping, robbing and raping a woman. Prosecutors alleged that Thompson abducted her from her vehicle, forced oral sex on her at gunpoint in a school parking lot, then drove her to an ATM where he robbed her and sodomized her again.
During the sentencing hearing, Thompson repeatedly interrupted Judge Tracy Davis with profanity and insults, including telling her: “I don’t care” about the victim and that she should “eat my dk.”
Despite the disruptions, Davis imposed a 30-year sentence, citing Thompson’s age and potential for rehabilitation. She stated: “Unfortunately he fell through the cracks and ended up in this court as an 18 or 19-year-old. This court does not believe Mr. Thompson, if given the resources that he can get while incarcerated, is beyond being rehabilitated.”
Thompson was convicted of the crimes in December 2023.
