Jill Biden’s Statement on Joe Biden’s 2024 Debate Performance Faces Criticism

ABC’s “The View” hosts have consistently accepted statements from the Democratic Party without critical scrutiny. However, even they were not ready to accept former first lady Jill Biden’s recent claim that she was very concerned about former President Joe Biden during his disastrous 2024 presidential debate and had never acted differently before or since.

The statement contradicted documented evidence of Biden’s decline throughout his presidency. On Friday, co-host Sunny Hostin expressed disappointment in Jill Biden, stating: “I’m a little disappointed in the fact that she was living with Joe Biden. She must have seen some of his decline. She must have seen it.” Hostin added that Jill Biden’s assertion she had never observed her husband in such condition was implausible given their long-term relationship.

Fellow co-host Joy Behar questioned whether it was Jill Biden’s responsibility to privately advise her husband about running for a second term, noting: “I think she should have told him, ‘Joe, do you really think you should run again?’ Because he promised us that he’s going to be a one-term president.”

The former first lady also faced criticism for remarks on her husband’s health. In an interview with reporter Rita Braver, Jill Biden described the revelation of former President Biden’s cancer diagnosis as “shocking.” Former President Biden disclosed his diagnosis in May last year, and a spokesperson stated he was undergoing radiation therapy and hormone treatment by fall.

When pressed about whether White House physicians should have detected this condition while he was in office, Jill Biden cited medical testing standards: “Well, you know, the doctor said that according to the American Urological Association, that men over 70 don’t need a PSA, a blood test, anymore because it’s a slow-growing cancer.” She concluded: “I do feel we had amazing care in the White House, but somehow that was missed.”
