An off-duty U.S. Secret Service agent was arrested and placed on administrative leave after allegedly masturbating in front of hotel guests at a Miami hotel, according to officials.

The incident occurred late Sunday night at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Miami Airport & Convention Center. Guests reported that the individual followed them into the lobby, causing several to flee to their rooms for safety. One guest described seeing him masturbate next to the door of their room.

After calling hotel security, guests discovered the agent on the sixth floor with his pants lowered and engaged in the act. The agent was taken into custody shortly after midnight Monday.

John Spillman, 33, a resident of Marble Falls, Texas, was working as part of a security perimeter screening detail for President Trump’s scheduled visit to attend the 2026 PGA Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral. He has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

In a statement, Secret Service Chief Richard Macauley condemned the conduct as “unacceptable” and noted it “stands in stark contrast to the professionalism and integrity that I demand of our personnel.”

Spillman was booked at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and ordered held on a $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to return to court on May 27.
