Trump Vows Unwavering Military Presence Near Iran Until Nuclear Deal

In a late-night Truth Social post on Wednesday, April 9, 2026, President Donald Trump announced that all U.S. military assets—including aircraft, ships, weapons, and personnel—would remain in the region near Iran until an official agreement with the nation is reached.

“If for any reason it is not, which is highly unlikely, then the ‘Shootin’ Starts,’ bigger, and better, and stronger than anyone has ever seen before,” Trump wrote. He also emphasized that Iran must have “NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS” and that the Strait of Hormuz must remain “OPEN & SAFE.”

Separately, Trump accused media outlets of reporting a false ten-point plan for Iran negotiations, calling it a “made up HOAX” designed to discredit participants in the peace process.
