Eddie Bauer Set to Close All North American Stores in Bankruptcy Move

Eddie Bauer, the outdoor clothing brand, plans to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and shut down all its physical retail locations across North America. The company’s parent corporation, Authentic Brands Group, announced on January 8 that it has partnered with Outdoor 5, LLC (Oved) to assume responsibility for Eddie Bauer’s e-commerce operations, wholesale distribution, and product development in the United States and Canada.

Customers have reported abrupt store closures after the news broke, with some finding locations listed as open online now closed. The Eddie Bauer website no longer allows users to search for physical stores, and all returns are directed to an online platform.

The brand, which gained recognition through partnerships such as the Eddie Bauer Edition Fords, is expected to completely discontinue its brick-and-mortar presence as it transitions to a fully digital model.
